Namaste, and greetings. This post is a simple tribute to the beauty of crystals. All the above pics were taken in 2004, using an early digital camera. As flowers grow from soil, crystals grow from stone. Crystals remind me of the parable of the lilies of the valley, “Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.…”

When we ponder the many ways that crystals come into being, we can gain insights that will enhance our appreciation for all of creation. From atoms to devas, to crystals, to rainbows, to galaxies, to angels. We stand in the very centre of infinite creation. We are one with all, and all is one with us. According to Rudolph Steiner, the world is crystallised from the consciousness of the highest angelic beings, who give off their energetic and etheric substance to form the matrix of all things on earth.* So with all these deep connections that the intuitive mind makes when pondering the world within, and the understanding of how minerals, with their perfect atomic geometry, are connected to the workings of our bodies, our appreciation of the great divine mystery, felt deeply within the silence of our central selves, is enhanced with ever more heartfelt appreciation and gratitude.

Since our previous post, Amanda, Luke, and I were stricken with the latest flu strain that is rampaging everywhere. They have more or less recovered now, and I, despite all odds, am recovering rather well too. It felt for me like a mini dose of salmonella; so I do hope sincerely that no reader suffers the same. Take good care everyone.

It Matters Not

Namaste, I am experiencing one of those times when mobility is more painful than usual. Life is happening to me while I’m busy making other plans. Roll on spring, I miss the sun. I’m just looking forward to the good our tomorrows will bring when we keep on caring for each other.

My grateful thanks, as always, to those who kindly drop by this blog, (and special thanks too, to those who wished me happy birthday!). Please forgive me if I can’t always keep up with you.

Seven Crystals Metaphysical: Part 2.

Continuing our series for intuitive folk. Part 2:

CLEAR QUARTZ

Receives, retains, stores, activates and releases information.

Encourages clarity of mind.

Cleanses, clears, draws from the inside out.

Has the ability to draw out energetic toxins from within the organs.

Oxygenates blood and organs.

Clear quartz has the ability to access information that you thought was lost.

It assists clear thinking in situations taking place both in the mind and in the world.

Actively balances Yin-Yang energies within the body.

A gem elixir of clear quartz is recommended, as the ingesting of the pure elixir allows activation of the crystal properties.

Gives clear sight to the outer and inner eyes, helps clear confusion, lifting fog from the inner eyes to give us a better view of reality.

When laid on or when applied as a wand in the auric field, clears energy pollution from the auric field and chakras.

Good when used in drinking water.

Deep Time and the Mohs Scale

How old could the crystal in your hand be? Lets use analogy to help us grasp the figures.

Imagine that a human life of 70 years is equal to 1 minute.

A piece of Rock Crystal would then be a year old. [That is 70 x 60(minutes) x 24(hours) x 365(days)].

The dinosours would have disappeared 2 years ago. Diamonds would be 30 years old.

Zircon would be 90 years old. Earth would be 150 years old.

THE HARDNESS OF CRYSTALS

Crystals are gauged for their relative hardnesses,(H), according to the Moh’s scale . The scale goes from 1 to 10, where 10 is the hardest. Each mineral, from N0. 2 upwards can scratch those below it, but not those above. As our fingernails are usually around H2.5, they can be scratched by calcite, but not by talc. For reference, a pen-knife is H6.5.

CLASSIFIED CRYSTALS – A QUICK SUMMARY

Igneous rocks are referred to as Primary Minerals,

Sedimentary rocks are Secondary Minerals,

Metamorphic rocks are Tertiary Minerals.

This crystal, found in a river in China, has an interesting history. It started life as a clear quartz cluster, but over time became submerged in river silts. Eventually the crystal was completely transformed as the sediments infiltrated the molecular lattice, and replaced the pure silicates with river sediments.

This Sediment Quartz, now has the texture of jasper, but has retained its quartz crystal appearance.

The diagram below represents the various transformations that rock will experience long after its igneous birth. On the clockwise turn rocks are undergoing changes related to environmental forces. On the anti – clockwise turn rocks undergo changes brought about by heat and high pressures. Metamorphic rocks can become sedimentary and vice-versa. Eventually all rock returns to the magma below via subduction. At the same time new rocks are constantly being formed by volcanic activity. It is an ongoing cyclical process.

Crystals, in therapy, are intended to vibrate their elemental structure in concert with those same elements in the body. When you pluck one string on a guitar, the remaining five strings vibrate audibly. We think of the crystals as strings plucked, and the body as harmonies echoed. This is expected to work because the crystal mineral is stronger than that of a body mineral. When placed in proximity to a person for a while, the crystal is intended to over ride a human imbalance through resonance. Long term resonance creates entrainment. The human will resonate in tune with the crystal. An imbalance in human functioning manifests a mineral imbalance somewhere in the body. This is why crystals are believed to be therapeutic. A crystal’s electromagnetic field (aura) penetrates human tissue and encourages healing by affecting the body’s mineral make up. Entrainment is intended to effect transformation at the cellular level, where our mitochondrial DNA/RNA is located. (RNA acts as the bridge of communication between the body and its’ DNA blueprint).
