The Colours of Crystals

The colours of crystals relate to their mineral content. Manganese, for instance, is what makes Clear Quartz pink enough to be called Rose Quartz. Chlorite makes Seraphinite green.

What makes the colours in the minerals?  Every mineral is governed by its atomic frequency, the rate of spin of its electrons. Different rates of spin create different colours.  Our eyes see a range of colours limited by our place in the environment and by our physical systems.

What makes the colours in the frequencies?

An individual electron may gain energy from outside, say from a collision with another atom.  When an electron gains energy it changes state and this involves a shift in orbit. A good way to visualise this is to imagine if the planets changed their relative positions in the solar system in the blink of an eye, as postulated in “the Velikovsky affair”.

When the electron changes phase this way, it wants to return to its resting state immediately. As it does, it releases the energy it gained at right angles to the apparent line of the quantum leap. This release, or exhaust, is a single photon of light.  A quantum event.

You might say atoms drink subatomic beer, bloat up, and burp colours.

Crystals Require More

“In the province of the mind, what is believed to be true is true or becomes true, within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally. These limits are further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind, there are no limits.”- John C Lilly.

Many students believe that choosing a crystal for a specific chakra is as simple as matching the colours. But the colours of the aura as seen in diagrams are really just a ‘rule of thumb’ system.  In reality colours mix and vary from person to person according to their situation, character, health and history. If you have ever watched a coal fire you would have noticed how coal and wood emit beautiful greens and blues when the minerals within them are converted into gases by the action of the flames. The colours are the signatures of the minerals in the coal. It’s a bit like the way astronomers know which minerals are present in stars by examining their light spectra. If the subtle bodies are emitting specific colours, these may correspond with the balance of minerals in the body. These minerals may affect the subtle bodies in ways not energetically dissimilar to the way colours are emitted by fireworks when their mineral combinations are combusted. Do the colours in the aura correspond in some way with the minerals in the body? No-one to our knowledge has answered this question.

Diagrams can only minimally prepare us to be real life therapists.

The left hemisphere of the brain, as we all know, deals exclusively with particulars. It thinks deductively, dividing and reducing everything into manageable bits of information; generally mutually exclusive. It cannot see the whole picture. We should neither abandon it, nor rely upon it. Our goal is to be “whole brained”. The right hemisphere apprehends the entire environment inclusive of all subliminal data. It has no censor.

Because of this dichotomy, and our historically enforced reliance on left brain development to the detriment of all else, we are divided in our outlook. This generates tension between what we believe and what we know. The Left brain cannot know because it sets limits upon itself which are based upon information received from outside of itself. It cannot compute that experientially there is actually nothing outside of itself. When we are unable to resolve an issue, we experience cognitive dissonance: frustration.

Without a bridge, we flounder somewhere between intuitive knowing versus belief. The two hemispheres must work together in balance and act as one for the sincere therapist to do good. We humans are like eagles, capable of soaring to the greatest heights if only one of our wings hadn’t been tied down.

So what are we to do?

Although it appears that we are stuck between the horns of a dilemma, this is not really so. We can readily engage our full brain potential by the use of any one of a great many techniques specifically designed to supersede the left hemispherical roadblock. Prayer, is one example. And for prayer to become more powerful,  practice and study are required. This goes for every method you choose.

There are countless ways, ancient and modern, to create a bridge between our hemispheres, and gain access to intuitive awareness. They are well proven by healers, mystics, psychics, metaphysicians, and a growing number of scientists. A few examples of these techniques are inductive thought, meditation, the use of kinesthetics, I-Ching, Tai-Chi, and Dowsing.  The latter is regarded as especially good for crystal therapy.

So there is a bit more to choosing an effective crystal than comparing colours with a diagram.  Your left brain should learn a crystals geometry, formation, mineral content, atomic type, location of origin, how mined, and  best known combinations.  Your right brain will know how to blend this knowledge with dowsing, or whatever your preferred  tool of access. Crystals therefore require more from you, so that they can give you more in return.

From atoms to devas to crystals to rainbows to galaxies to angels. We stand in the very centre of infinite creation. We are One with all, as all is one with us. According to Rudolph Steiner, 1861/1925, the clairvoyant scientist who founded the Anthroposophical movement, the world is crystallised from the consciousness of the highest angelic beings, who give off their energetic and etheric substance to form the matrix of all things on Earth.  They remind me of the Valar in Tolkien‘s Silmarillion.

These archangels are the “Thrones“. They are the causal spirits, one step removed from the Ultimate One. Like silkworms they weave  the spinning etheric threads of existence. They first wove with musical vibration the elements that create matter. Steiner believed that they themselves cannot enter into matter for their energy is so great it would act like antimatter and annihilate the world.  So, just as we step down the power of electricity to make it usable, they created toned down forms of themselves. These are the devas, the earth spirits and fairies who regulate and maintain the living things on earth. The first forms of matter are crystals. And the echo of the minds of the Thrones ring in every crystal. The deva of each crystal is present in every crystal. This is why crystals are worthy of care and respect.  Every crystal is like a brain cell in the mind of its deva.

“Colours in flower and leaf pass away; the red of carnelian and the green of emerald endure as long as earth.”    Rudolph Steiner.

Spiraling Within

At the beginning of physical life, once our needs for nourishment and comfort have been met, our solar plexus chakra, the larder of the body, opens. This engages the heart chakra, and the desire for more life and growth (pleasure) emerge. At the same time, our awareness of our physical environment grows, and our natural creativity is channelled into curiosity, which reaches out to explore the world.

Now the base chakra goes into action as we learn from our first experiences of pleasure and pain. We become preferential.  The Base Chakra aligns with the Crown Chakra, and self-awareness grows. Now the Brow Chakra opens and we start to gain insights, both right and wrong, about the world.  Meditating on this spiral of internal energy will enhance the therapists intuition.

The root of all disease is born when one or more of these cycles is interrupted. For example, the baby may be well fed and warm, but without adequate loving attention from mother, the heart does not connect very well with the base. The baby’s instincts lack direction, and like a plant in a room with no sunlight, growth is distorted. When the brow opens it sees within itself a world that is lacking in something important.  As the baby is unable to comprehend why this is so, the energy of frustration rises which will, if not relieved, pollute the inner life.

With this knowledge adults are equipped to support the indigo, crystal, and pearl children who are now on Earth. I cannot think of a greater gift of gratitude that we can give to our Mother Earth than to nurture children so that they may grow to lead fulfilling lives.  Bless every open-minded parent you know, and bless tomorrow.

The system described in this post was inspired by ‘The Crystal Healer”  by Marianna Sheldrake,  C W Daniel 2000. ISBN-13: 978-0852073230

“At the end there is no concept of Kundalini whatsoever. There is only the unified state. Therefore in reality, no ‘serpent’ to be awoken in the first place. That is only the illusion of separation”.     Marianna Sheldrake.

Therapeutic Approaches to The Aura

Another set of useful correspondences for the student crystal therapist to consider. In this diagram, Will, Feeling, and Thought, which ground our lower nature, correspond with Wisdom, Love and Divine Will, which express our higher nature.

When we are well balanced, our will is automatically at one with our purpose in life. Divine Love corresponds with our feeling selves. And when we are finally freed from our conditioning scripts, Divine Wisdom corresponds with our thoughts. This is the empowerment that we seek, and it encourages us  to express our unique selves without fear or compromise.

When our heart  becomes our barometer, and the spokesperson for our core selves, then our lower nature reflects our higher nature, as a still lake reflects the contours of an island. Life becomes so much easier to live.  “Lower” is not a judgment, but a point of balance, no more significant than up from down.

There are many ways to approach the human energy field, some ancient, some new. What works for one therapist may not work for another.  Curing is a science for which the doctor is required.  Healing is an art that the therapist must acquire.  The aura is layered like an onion.  Each layer has a discreet presence. This means that emotional and cognitive atmospheres are contained in various areas within the aura. For better or for worse, they influence the chakras. It is good practise to engage mindfulness, meditate regularly, and focus on learning to identify the many automatic responses to external signals that our subtle bodies are sending us.  This helps us to grow in sensitivity and understanding; absolute requirements for an effective therapist.

It is always important to bear in mind that all technical diagrams of auras and such-like, are for reference only, in the same way that a map is never the territory that it represents.  Use diagrams as guidelines, but better yet learn to perceive auras in your own way.  This can be accomplished. It may be experienced as a felt sense of another persons overall state, revealing their unspoken issue. Or you may experience a transferential relay of extra verbal dialogue. Over and above the contents of dialogue, what impressions do you feel in your gut. This requires clarity and self-awareness on the behalf of the therapist, an ability to put our inner censor on a shelf for a while.  Another way to develop aura vision, is to glance at the person quickly then look away and focus on your “soul impression”  (first impression) of that person.  This is instantaneous but very informative, and useful for making quick (and streetwise) decisions.  You can exercise your visual auric sense by asking a friend to stand before a white or a black plain surface. Allow your eyes to become slightly unfocused, and be careful not to confuse what you see with motes on your eyes.  It is quite easy to see the etheric aura this way.  It is often a kind of cigarette smoke blue, that emanates from the body for an inch or so. With practise you will gain confidence, and on occasion will see colours, scintillations, and at times even geometries. These impressions may appear to be random, but with time you will learn to link them with your client’s need. Seers have used descriptions like “undulations” and “circular concentric interference wave patterns” to describe the way chakras are seen. Usually the ability seems to come and go as needed, that is to say you can turn it on and off as desired.  This is a powerful therapeutic tool. Of course you may have been gifted with the ability to see auras from birth, but if not, please don’t believe you can’t do it, you most certainly can, it’s just one of your many birthrights.

The geometry of the chakras correspond with blueprints of manifestation in the same way that crystals do. They too form from Metatron’s Cube.  As each chakra has individual geometry, the therapist needs to determine which crystal is appropriate for that geometry. For instance, as the base chakra contains four “petals” it can resonate with a cubic crystal. As the heart has twelve petals, it will resonate with hexagonal crystals.

You and I and everything else, flash in and out of existence at ten to the power of forty-four times per second. We are destroyed and recreated that many times every instant. It is a frequency. Where do we go? How do we get back?  We don’t know how we do it, but we never stop doing it. We can only be doing this because, like our crystals, we are in perfect resonance with infinity itself.  We are crystals at the centre of our being.

Pithy, The Golden Mean Section

The Golden Mean is one of many names given to the system of measurement and design used by ancient artists, sculptures and architects to create highly aesthetic forms of unsurpassed beauty. The ugliness of so much 20th century architecture is due to the absence of spiritual proportion in favour of economy.  In the schools I attended, scorn was encouraged rather than respect for the values of our ancestors.

1-1-2
1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-35-56

The Golden Mean was considered by Pythagoras, the Egyptians, the Druids, and other ancient schools of wisdom, to be clear evidence of the mind of God at work in nature. It is present in all living structures.  The human body was considered to be the measuring stick of the universe.  Its proportions embody the canon of the “Phi* Ratio”.  While the Phi, or Golden Ratio was formalized in mathematics, its natural counterpart was discovered by the monk Leonardo Fibonacci, who preceded Da Vinci by about 250 years. When Fibonacci studied growth patterns in plants he noted that their leaves emerge in a spiraling formation that demonstrates a significant angular and numerical sequence: 1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 – 35 – 56, etc., where the next number is the sum of the preceding two numbers. This was a remarkable discovery as it synchronizes with the ancient math used to calculate the Phi ratio. This is why the ancients considered sacred geometry to be the Creators signature made visible in nature.  From the spiral of a snail-shell to the spiral of the galaxy, the Fibonacci sequence is everywhere; even in our bones.  This also applies to the study of crystal atomic geometry.  Even our cells, from conception, grow in perfect geometric proportion.

Human anatomical geometry is said to be the measuring rule of the universe. The large green circle surrounding our man on the left side of the picture below corresponds to the diameter of the Earth, while the small circles of the “Flower of Life” (also called the “Cosmic Fish Net”) which make the human Merkaba, correspond in exact proportion to the diameter of the moon. The Flower of Life pattern is the matrix of Metatron’s Cube; which is the foundation of all atomic phenomena and houses the Platonic Solids: which are the at the heart of all crystal geometry.  This is a geometrically verifiable fact. It is also somewhat intriguing that the ancients knew to a high degree of accuracy the circumference and diameters of the Earth and the moon extrapolated from, amongst other things, study of the human form. They did not think that the Earth was flat. This notion was enforced during the dark ages. The centre of the upper circle, where the apex of the male tetrahedron ends, is the exact location of the causal chakra. To repeat, the large circle corresponds to the circumference of the earth and the small circles to the circumference of the moon when the human body is measured with sacred geometry.

The Fibonacci spiral originating with our lady in the yellow background above, contains its male counterpart in the straight lines drawn inside it. Note that when we position the spiral so that the straight male line intersects the lady’s navel, the male line of the spiral on the mans body intersects his genitals. This synchronicity is significant on the energetic levels for the processes of conception and birth.  In the final picture on the right of the diagram below, we have emphasised the Golden Mean heart as this symbolises the universal harmony that underlies our gender and our geometric relationship with the planet.  The Man is set in the square while the lady is set in the circle.  The geometry is appropriate.  Whichever way you look at it, we are crystals at the centre of our being.

*”Phi”, being a Greek word, rhymes with ‘high’.
