Yet Beauty Prevails

Hello again. One day later, and twelve months sooner – we return with part two. Today’s pics were taken only days ago.

In those sacred corners of this world, where peace prevails, and nature is allowed to practice its art, a thoughtful soul might, even if only for a moment, feel their connection to the divine.

The words, “Sic Transit Gloria Mundi” apply to those who would build monuments to themselves. From empty boastings, all the way up to the legacies of kings – whatever is built upon dust must fall. Yet beauty prevails wherever it can, never needing the help of kings, or commoners. For me, when this wider world of green and living wonders is allowed to practice its art, it never loses so much as an inch of its glory, no matter the season.

I took a tumble a few days ago, and am working my way through some consequences. Any healing wishes sent my way will be received with gratitude.

With that said, it’s time to rest. Namaste, and peace to every reader.

A long time ago, before we arrived, the stage was all set for matter alive. Each one, a rung on the spiralling stair, we all belong in each other’s care.

Time Flies

Greetings, I hope to find you well. This is the first of a two parter where all pics were taken at the same location, but separated by a year. Whilst this year, our Summer has been somewhat wonderful (for the majority of non-farming folk), last year wasn’t always quite so good. Today’s pics, however, were taken on a particularly beautiful day during August ’17.

Tempus Fugit, and in one year so very much has flown swiftly by. Yet still the growing tale of events accelerates us ever further onwards. Although a year is a relatively short time for an aging adult, for the millions of tiny creatures who inhabit every inch of the natural landscape in our pics, it is a millennium. How inconceivably quickly time flies for tiny critters. I see no reason not to suppose that unimaginably vast beings are inhabiting spaces forever imperceptible to us, and whose lifespans endure far beyond any measure of time we might care to believe. Yet if even these hypothetical souls had a beginning, then they must as surely have an end. Therefore, it is fair to say that for them time probably flies in a relative way too.

My mother would often remark on the beauty of this world, and express her sadness that one day we have to leave. Nowadays I doubt strongly that she would swap her present environment for the troubled world she left behind. Our time here is flying, I think it’s best to practise kindness, and no matter how strong the temptation, to avoid wrongdoing.

Now, in the blink of a blackbird’s eye, all our time has flown on by.

Part two to follow. Namaste, and peace from Amras.

The Red Carpet

Greetings. How beautiful is this world: created for us.  I can never find words adequate to describe the wonder of being alive. The red carpet is rolled before the feet of a monarch; and are we not, each and everyone of us, the anointed monarch of our own lives? To take these pics, I need to be driven into the forest, which is otherwise within walking distance. From there, I lean against the car, or hobble for a few feet, using my trusty walking stick to save me from an undignified tumble. On this occasion, as you can see, the said carpet had been prepared in advance. The local church, atop the hill, crowns the forest. I enjoyed immensely the job of taking these pics, and hope sincerely that you enjoy viewing them.

I want to take this occasion to thank everyone who drops by this blog. Your visits are appreciated thoroughly, and may I say too, that your blogs are always inspiring to me. So, despite the howling cacophony that thunders on without, peace is real, and is found only within. And within every blog I read, I sense a longing for that peace to be shared.

May those of us for whom peace is the both the destination, and the path, be ever more mindful of this truth in the crazy days just ahead.

Hoping as ever to return soon. Namaste, and peace from Amras.

Closer They Flew

Guardians

People in this world must make their own sunshine. Discouragement too often overtakes those whose lives pass in the petty details of common-place existence.

Of all things, when the mood of discouragement overtakes one, he should think of anything and everything else than his own troubles, and more than this, should take measures at once to follow new currents of thought and feeling.

Sometimes the mood is merely the result of bodily conditions; and requires for its cure sleep, or exercise in open air, or change of diet, or a simple waiting until it passes away of itself. When it springs from causes not connected to the body, then the cure must be spiritual or intellectual.

An interesting novel, visitation among the poor, constant intercourse with fresh minds, change of scene, travel, the study of a science new to the patient, anything that will absorb the brain and keep it from consuming itself is good medicine.

The world is full of sunshine and beauty. “It is meet, right, and our bounden duty,” that we should open our hearts to all the soothing, healing, invigorating influences of the sky that bends over us in unchanging love, the balmy air, the happy chirp of innumerable insects, the ten thousand voices with which nature speaks to him whose ears are opened to receive her gentle teachings.

Wellsy

I manned my freshly repaired stair-lift, and made my way downstairs. Then, I stood outside, propped by two sticks, and felt the wintry sun shining on my face. Emmie, our faithful greyhound, sauntered up, and leaned gently against me.

High up, above the chestnut trees,  many figures were seemingly engaged in a fierce dog-fight. Closer they flew, until I could see that eight crows were harassing a very large hawk.

Closer yet they flew, until they were directly overhead. At this point, six crows departed, leaving two, who corralled the hawk even closer to view. I could count his feathers almost. Suddenly the crows headed for the trees, and the hawk, set free, soared away westward.

What a time to leave my camera indoors.

With that, I would like to thank all readers who enjoy this site; and a special thank you to Jay, for your patience and selfless kindness. (In return, I would like to ask for any reader who may feel so inspired, to say a little prayer for Jay.)

My health, perforce, is keeping me a little preoccupied, which is why I haven’t been blogging much of late. So I hope at least to create quality for you (if not quantity.)

The pic, “Guardians” was inspired by the story above, I hope you like it.

Beauty in The Dark

Beauty in The Dark

We all came here to find those friends,

On whom our happiness depends,

Who, lost in thickest forests now,

Are seeking solace out of sight,

And when we finally embrace,

Their trust, regained within the night,

We’ll leave the forests, hand in hand,

To fly back home, and reunite.

One night, while walking with my martial arts teacher, we saw a man stop to watch ballet dancers through a studio window. He stayed for just a moment before disappearing into the night.  “For a moment in time,” my teacher said, “He found beauty in the dark.” And, ‘moments in time’ are all that we have. I liked that, especially as I understand that moments in time are all that we may share; and, I felt it advisable to create the sort of moments for others that I would like others to create for me.

Wellsy

Generally speaking, the man who is misunderstood, who is frequently criticized,

is likely to be doing something worthwhile. It is the person with whom everyone agrees

that is lost in the mass of mediocrity. The head that lifts itself above the others has

the rock thrown at it, so we need not be concerned when people criticize us.

Of course it is normal to want people to like us, and a good thing to say to ourselves

when people criticize us is: “If people knew me better they would like me.”

This is literally true, for if we could know every man in the right way

we would certainly find something in him to admire.
