Cathedral architecture evokes deep but nebulous sensations in me. It’s like snatching glimpses of long forgotten dreams. When I was a child, there was a beautiful print of Lichfield Cathedral in my bedroom. I would spend hours examining it and teaching myself how to sketch its many details. Decades later, I routinely treated Amanda, Luke, and myself to evensong at Worcester Cathedral. Tonight’s pics are the first of two posts on Wells Cathedral.
When we heard that Mozart’s Requiem was going to be performed here, nothing could keep us away. And it didn’t. I didn’t get any decent pics of the performers as my old digital camera couldn’t see anything in the poor light, but these daylight pics sure make up for things. I hope you enjoy, (part two will appear as soon as I can re-mobilize the old joints). Namaste, Amras.
